HOW TO GIVE YOUR WARDROBE A SPRING CLEAN

How to Give Your Wardrobe a Spring Clean

Plus some new additions that you'll be able to make room for…

March 20th officially marks the arrival of spring and what better time than the start of a new season to reorganise your wardrobe?

As this can be quite a daunting task, we’re here to offer some advice on how you can tackle it by using just three easy questions. Keep reading to find out what they are…

  1. Does the item in the question still fit?

If this item is particularly difficult to get on or doesn’t allow you to move freely while you wear it it might be time to say goodbye, especially if you haven’t been able to wear it for a while.

This part of the clear-out process is usually the most sensitive, however, we want to remind you that your clothes are supposed to fit you, not the other way around.

If a pair of shoes became too small for you, would you take it personally? No, you’d just buy some that actually fit! Try and have that same mindset with your clothing. And remember, all body shapes and sizes are beautiful, it’s just about finding the right clothing that makes you feel as fabulous as you look.

  1. Have you worn the item in the last 2 years?

Trends, and sometimes your style, can be in a constant state of change which is why it’s worth keeping some of your old favourite pieces around just in case you fall in love with them again.

However, it’s about time to take off your sentimental hat and replace it with your space-saving, sensible hat. If something has been sat in the back of your wardrobe without being worn for more than two years, it’s best to accept that it’s taking up the space of something that you could love and wear right now!

  1. Can you see yourself wearing it again in the future?

If the item in question is now completely out of your comfort zone, whether that refers to the style or colour, it’s more than likely that you won’t choose to wear it again.

If you went out for dinner with a girl friend and she was wearing it, would you ask her where it was from so you could buy it for yourself? If not, it’s not something you’re likely to search for in the future.

If the answer to the above three questions are all “no”, it’s definitely time to remove that piece of clothing from your wardrobe as it’s now only taking up space. Consider giving it away to a local charity shop or share it on Vinted to try and get some extra pennies!

The best thing about getting rid of something is that it makes room for new, gorgeous items that you’re going to love wearing over and over again. Let us give you some examples…
